Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time, August 21, 2022

This week I have one a friendly reminder, a couple of new items and an update.

My farewell Mass is next Sunday, August 28th at the 10:30 Mass. There will be a reception in the parish center immediately following. All are welcome.

I will be leaving St. John’s the sometime during the first week of September heading to my new assignment.
Here is my new address:

Our Lady of the Mountains Friary

Cumberland, MD, 21502

St. John’s continues to experience vandalism, this time it was in the graveyard. An individual toppled over a concrete memorial slab onto one of the graves, the memorial slab was severely cracked as well as the slab on the grave. Our security cameras were able to capture the person, although I am not sure that we will be able to find the individual. Police were notified about the vandalism.

Thank you for all you do for our parish and for your commitment to ensure that St. John’s continues to be “Good News in the Heart of Philadelphia.”
Peace and God’s blessings.
