  • LETTER FROM FR. JOHN DAYA

    May 28, 2020

    Dear Parishioners of St. John’s,

It is with great joy that I write this letter to you. As you are aware Archbishop Perez as called for the reopening of the churches the weekend of June 6th and 7th. In addition to the long awaited day announcing when the churches would reopen, I have so many other items I want to tell you about; I have missed speaking to you through my weekly bulletin column. I am sure what you will be reading shortly will be of great interest to you. Click here to read the full letter.

    March 26, 2020

    Dear Parishioners of St. John’s,

It is with utmost sensitivity and concern that I write to you. All of us are so very much aware of the crisis we are living in, caused by the coronavirus which has affected our lives, especially, our inability to have access to our church for the celebration of Mass and receive the Eucharist. This no doubt is difficult as we want to express our faith through prayer and be fed by Holy Communion.

In addition to this hardship we face another reality: the temporary closure of St. John’s which affects financial need. Although Masses are suspended, our parish community continues to be responsible to meet the financial obligations of St. John’s. If you are in a position to do so, I ask that you continue to support our parish through your financial contributions. I have three suggestions: please send in your weekly envelope through the mail, use our Parish Giving or Paypal account (just click one of the link below) or, for your convenience consider the option of electronic giving through your financial institution.

We are researching other options to allow donors to set up electronic transfers and/or credit card payments as well. We will update you on those options as they become available.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment. May God continue to bless us all.

    ~Father John~

Will you help us reduce our debt, please?

In 2007, St. John’s faced a critical structural issue: the leaning, crumbling towers at the front of the church. The enormous cost required the parish to take out a loan from the Archdiocese in the amount of $1.2 million dollars.

Over the past several years, we have successfully paid $300,000.00+ toward the debt; we now stand at $856,036.00!

Please help us bring this number down to $0. Every dollar is important and counts. Please help us with this donation for whatever you are able to give.
