This week I have quite a bit of information I know will be of interest to you.
Ash Wednesday is February 17th. I realize this is a little over three weeks away but I wanted to get the word out early regarding the schedule. Because of the pandemic which has caused small numbers of people attending Mass, the friars have decided that the Mass and prayer service schedule should be adjusted. The following is the schedule for both the Masses and prayer services.
All Masses will be celebrated in the upper church.
Prayer services will be celebrated in the lower church every half hour (on the hour and half hour), beginning at 7:00 am. Candles, black books and donation boxes will be available.
Directive on how ashes are to be distributed. For reasons of safety and avoiding human touch, ashes are to be sprinkled on the head of the person. This directive comes from the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, Vatican City, January 12, 2021.
The little black books will go on sale the weekend of January 31st in the back of the church and at the parish office.
Weekly church envelopes. We have been getting quite a number of complaints that persons have not received their envelopes. This has everything to do with the mail service and their back log.
