This week I have several new items and then reminders.
A Memorial Mass in Memory of Father Senan will be celebrated next Sunday, January 24th at 10:30. Father Senan passed away on Saturday morning, December 26th, he was 89 years old. He served as parochial vicar here at St. John’s for 15 years. Father Senan’s obituary is posted on our web site.
Please note: because of the controversy surrounding the presidential election and inauguration of President-elect Biden and in the interest of safety, the parish office will be closed on Wednesday, January 20th and will reopen on Thursday.
Additionally, Masses and confessions will also be suspended on Wednesday, January 20th. Masses and confessions will resume on Thursday.
The coronavirus took its toll on so many people. This weekend, except for the 8:30 Mass which will be for the People of the Parish, the intention for the other four Masses will be In Memory of those who have died as a result of the virus. Please keep them and their families in your prayers.
Please note: in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. there will be one Mass on Monday, January 18th at 9:00 am. The parish office will be closed and will reopen on Tuesday.
As we celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., let us pray that our government leaders and each one of us recommit ourselves to promoting the rights and dignity of all persons and work to eliminate prejudice in all its forms.
