This week I have several new items and then reminders.
As you are aware Father Senan passed away on Saturday morning, December 26th, he was 89 years old. Father Senan served as parochial vicar here at St. John’s for 15 years. Father Senan’s obituary is posted on our web site. A memorial Mass will be celebrated here at St. John’s in the near future, please check the bulletin and/or web site for details.
The coronavirus took its toll on so many persons. Next weekend, except for the 8:30 Mass which will be for the People of the Parish, the intention for the other four Masses will be In Memory of those who have died as a result of the virus. Please keep them and their families in your prayers.
Please note: in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. there will be one Mass on Monday, January 18th at 9:00 am. The parish office will be closed and will reopen on Tuesday.
As we celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., let us pray that our government leaders and each one of us recommit ourselves to promoting the rights and dignity of all persons and work to eliminate prejudice in all its forms.
Thanks to the generosity of several parishioners donated $51,477.00 as year-end gifts to St. John’s, all of which were designated as the pastor’s discretion. I will inform you how the donations were directed. Thank you for your generosity.
Due to the increase of COVID 19 and the few numbers of persons attending the 1:05 Mass, the decision was made to suspend that Mass until the end of January.
