Happy New Year!
I hope the beginning of 2021 has been good for you so far. I am sure all of us share the same hope, that events that began in March of 2020, namely, the pandemic will be coming to an end and that life will get back to some sort of normalcy. I believe there is light at the end of the tunnel now that the vaccine is becoming available.
On another note, as you and I are aware, when a new year begins the news media reaps some of the top stories of the past year. I’d like to bring to your attention important, newsworthy events that have happened at St. John’s in 2020.
17-Marriages (35 marriages for 2020 postponed to 2021/2022 due to the pandemic)
Thanks to the generosity of several parishioners who donated $50,200.00 as year end gifts to St. John’s, all of which were designated as the pastor’s discretion. I will inform you how the donations were directed. Thank you for your generosity.
Due to the increase of COVID 19 and the few numbers of persons attending the 1:05 Mass, the decision was made to suspend that Mass until the end of January.
Historical Preservation Endowment Fund $431,136.48
Thank you for all you do for our parish and for your commitment to ensure that St. John’s is “Good News in the Heart of Philadelphia.” Stay safe and healthy. Peace and God’s blessings at Christmas and in the New Year!
